A farewell

We gathered today to say farewell to a mother, a wife, a friend, an aunt , a neighbour. There were tears, many and laughs, some, as we shared tales of times over 87 years. Annoyances, differences, squabbles put aside, united for a time in shared grief.

Emotions ran high, some managing to hold back tears more successfully than others. Tears flowed for me.

And when it was all done, a sense of release.

      1. Oh my goodness. I’m so very sorry to hear that. I know the loss of my father was devastating to me, and losing my mother will be even more so. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your loved ones.
